My Personal Healing Journey
Fresh out of college at 22 and ready to start medical school, I had big plans for my life. But life had different ideas. Suddenly, I was hit with excruciating facial pain – bolts of electricity followed by relentless burning.
Despite being surrounded by medical professionals, finding answers proved elusive. The pain came and went, defying explanation, leaving me feeling isolated in my struggle. It took two years to get a diagnosis – “stress-triggered pain” – a catch-all explanation that didn’t capture the intensity of my pain.
I began medication in an attempt to manage the pain – it was either meds or suicide, the pain was so bad. I was able to finish medical school and complete training as an OB/GYN. But my health suffered, and eventually, I had to step away from the career I’d worked so hard for.
Medication had become a lifeline, but also a barrier to the life I wanted.
For a few years, I explored radical treatments and surgeries, seeking the elusive solution. It was a roller-coaster of hope and disappointment. Even after these efforts, the pain persisted. But I got enough pain relief to want to live my life again and be productive. I knew I couldn’t return to my surgical profession as it would’ve been too intense, so I began retraining in psychiatry.
Shortly after starting my private practice, the pain returned on the other side of my face. I went back on medication again for 16 years. It helped control the pain but again, my health deteriorated. I gained weight, struggled with brain fog and had very low energy. The meds didn’t even take the pain away, they just controlled the worst of it.
I was still sick, but now I was sick and drugged.
Throughout this entire time one question echoed: why was this happening to me? Stress was a trigger, but not everyone in stressful situations experienced such intense pain. It was a puzzle, a frustrating mystery.
A glimmer of hope appeared in a conversation with a family member, who introduced me to the Medical Medium® information. Within hours of reading his book, I finally had answers to what had plagued me for so long. I had no doubt at all in the truth I was reading.
With time, using the MM protocols, I transitioned from medication to natural solutions, slowly reclaiming control over my pain. It wasn’t an overnight fix, but a gradual process of healing. I also sought out support during my healing journey, as it was one thing to understand the MM information, it was another thing entirely to apply it to my unique situation and to stay the course with putting the tools and protocols into action. The road hasn’t been easy, but it’s a journey I’m grateful for.
My firsthand experience with pain and despair has given me so much compassion for what my clients are going through.
I know what it’s like when you feel like there’s no hope. You wonder why you should bother talking with one more person. You’ve already seen so many people and spent so much money and none of it has made a difference.
But the reason you should talk with one more person is because up till now, you haven’t been told the real reason you’re sick. And you haven’t received the coaching support you’ve needed to do what will really work to turn your situation around.
I want you to be free of pain, suffering, hopelessness, despair and depression. So that you can actually enjoy your body and your life again. I know it feels out of reach. But it’s not.
